There is a sincere need and demand for safe and natural products to solve and deal with stenches and animal waste in animal shelters, chicken houses, piggeries, cattle kraals, slaughter houses and dairies. Natural bacteria as a Bio degradation agent.

Bio-Enzymes are a biological formulation of multi-purpose bacteria, formulated to have a multi- purpose and broad range of natural degradation abilities and functions. In their natural environment, bacteria produce hundreds of enzymes in response to the organics present in their environment.

This group of Bio-Enzymes produce extracellular enzymes with the intention to break down proteins, starches, fats, oils, greases and toilet tissue into smaller particles, outside the bacterial cell. How does PIERRE @ D BIO ENZYME Liquid out-perform various harmful pathogens?

The SABS Standard requires a 5-minute killing time for the most common hygiene microorganisms such as S. aureus, E. coli and P. aeruginosa.

From a hygiene point of view, especially where pets and farm animal’s health or zoonotic diseases are at stake, hygiene factors are of great importance and a critical management matter. Such is products used in creating a hygienic environment.

The responsible value of a healthy and hygienic environment would be to sanitize the working environment effectively before continue working. It could be food preparation, preparing feeding for dairy calves, chicken houses, bird cages, shelters, restaurants, home cooking and food preparation.

Mode of Function of Bacillus bacteria as Bio-Enzymes
In contrast to the SABS standard, being the quickest time a sanitizer (QAC- based) is supposed to kill, Bacillus-containing sanitizers such as the Pierre @ D Bio-Enzymes operate in a different mode. Bio-Enzymes are live bacteria that needs to compete with other microorganisms for a food sources. Hence the longer contact time required by these bacteria to kill its competitors.

1. The pattern that bacillus bacteria uses, (as seen in the study), is to kill or out compete the other bacteria. The answer lies in its morphological structure. Where Bacillus bacteria grows, other microorganisms will move away from that specific waste food source.

2. Bacillus bacteria have a larger morphological structure than other organisms. It creates a zone of inhibition, preventing growth of other microorganisms (known as morphological inhibition).

3. This ensures fewer numbers of other microorganisms surviving, but a rapid growth of bacillus bacteria absorbing waste product such as sewerage, milk spills, waste pills, grease traps etc.

For Bio Enzymes to be most effective and efficient, it is always important to know the cfu value of any biological product that has been diluted. Or in its concentrated form. This is to know if the product you have diluted has sufficient active ingredient to fulfil the desired outcome in waste or stench management:

Uriene en Reuksintuie van Honde en Katte en oorsake van urinering in die huis

(Met spesifieke verwysing na honde, omdat hul reuksintuie soveel beter as die van katte is. Die beginsels bly maar dieselfde, want katte herhaal hulself baie graag op matte. Om die gedrag te verstaan, moet die rede/motivering en inspirasie daaror verstaan word.



Die Pierre@Dieregesondheid Facebook blad het vele vrae opgelewer rakende urienreuke en urienmerke op matte in huishoudings wat in die proses onhigiëniese toestande skep. Daar is letterlik duisende vrae hieroor. Wat sou die redes wees waarom troeteldiere dit doen?

Die tweede vraag hieroor is, is die mens nie dalk die skuldige in die proses nie? Vele diere word onskuldig weens hul goeie reuksintuie verkeerd verstaan en uit die huis verban, selfs weggegee.

Koms ons bestudeer die feite en ondersoek dan wat die diere-eienaar moet weet van hierdie gedrag om die probleem aan te spreek en op te los, waarom Pierre@Dieregesondheid ‘n reeks huishoudelike produkte laat ontwikkel het om dierlike uitskeiding aan te spreek.

Miskien is die heel belangrikste wat moet gebeur, om die mens en sy troeteldiere se gedrag bloot te stel aan die wetenskap wat hierdie dieregedrag en reaksies daarom bestudeer, want miskien is dit die begin van die probleem en uitdaging se oplossing.

Waarom is honde se neuse nat?

Die mukus op ‘n hond se nat neus is daar om partikels van goed wat reuke afgee vas te vang en te identifiseer. Dit is so sensitief dat dit die reuke wat kanker en suiker, angs, hoë bloeddruk en vele ander aktiwiteite in die menslike liggaam op klein skaal afskei wanneer dit gebeur, kan opvang en identifiseer.

Hoe ruik mense vir honde? Ongeag al die was en seep en parfuum wat die mens gebruik, stink die mens nog steeds baie erg vir ‘n hond. Elke mens het ‘n reukvoetspoor. Dit is gewoon al wat ‘n hond nodig het om een mens te onderskei van ander. Jy is, in werklikheid, vir jou diere die reuke wat jy as persoon afskei.

Die mens skei konstant reuke uit en af – van die kuiltjie onder hul arms, hul asem en baie sterk reuke deur hul klere van hul geslagsdele. Die grootste orgaan van die menslike liggaam is vol sweetgaatjies en kliere wat soute en ander afskeidings 24-uur ‘n dag uit- en afskei.

Die menslike vel

Die vel versamel ook ‘n verskeidenheid van bakterie uit die omgewing deur stof, aanraking, sit, slaap, vadoeke, waslappe, toilette. Die menslike vel is 24 uur van die dag ‘n groot, mikroskopiese, wriemelende aktiwiteit waarteen die menslike liggaam stry en baklei en met sweet, vog van die omgewing en afskeidings van kliere reageer.

“Sebaceous glands “ is eksokriene kliere wat ‘n wasagtige en olierige vloeistof konstant afskei, ook sebum genoem. Dit is om die soogdier se vel en hare waterdig te maak en te bevog en die gesig bevat meeste van hierdie kliere. Sebum word ook in handpalms en voetsole afgeskei en staan ook as “holokrien” bekend.

Die Literatuur oor die menslike vel bewys dat die mens 24 uur van die dag besig om sy vel te  vernuwe en los daarmee ‘n vlokkie of “velvoetspoor” van sy beweging. Sebum sorg vir interaksie en reaksies met die omgewing se afskeidings.

Sou mens fyner kon sien, sou jy rondom elke mens ‘n fisiese stofwolk waarneem soos wat die mens elke minuut sowat 50 miljoen vlokkies van sy dooie vel afskei. Dit verbind met duisende bakterie en hierdie vel word ook n voedselbron vir mikroskopiese organismes wat in ons beddens, matte, klere, gordyne en sitkamerstelle lewe.

Die mens is in werklikheid dus ‘n vel-sneeustorm elke minuut van sy lewe.  Hierdie vel, met die biologiese rykdom van bakterie wat daaraan vaskleef, word deeglik deur die hond geruik en waargeneem.

Die feit is dus die volgende: die een wat in werklikheid stink, is die mens – nie soseer die hond nie. Die mens se maniere, gedrag, reuke, sy higiëne, huis skoonmaak praktyke, kos praktyke, toilet maniere en gebruike, die matte en materiaal in die huis stimuleer sy optrede en gedrag tot urinering.

Die hond en reuke

Honde lees die hele wêreld rondom hulle deur sy neus, en nie soseer deur sy oë en ore nie. Reuke interesseer hom omdat dit hom baie stories in prentjies vertel van die omgewing waarin hy bly. Hierdie nuwe konstant-veranderlike reuke word deeglik deur die hond se sensitiewe reuksintuie geruik en reuke speel ‘n belangrike rol in honde se gedrag en motivering.


Literatuur en verskeie navorsing wil dit hê dat honde angs en vrees kan ruik, reuke wat die menslike liggaam afskei met verhoogde hartkloppings, selfs hartseer. Die verskille tussen die mens en die hond se siening van die wêreld 

‘n Baie groot deel van misverstande wat tussen die mens en honde ontstaan, is weens die feit dat mense nie verstaan dat ‘n hond se leefwêreld deur sy neus gevorm word nie.

  • Die mens se leefwêreld is deur sy oë. Die mens vorm sy wêreld eers deur sig, dan gehoor en dan reuke.
  • Die hond eers deur reuke, dan gehoor en dan sig.

Wanneer die hond asem inasem, is sy neus so ontwikkel dat die lug twee duidelike paaie volg, een na die sensoriese gedeeltes van sy neusholtes, “Olfaction”, en die ander gedeelte deur die farinks na die longe vir suurstof.

Honde se reukvermoë is van so ‘n aard dat reuke opgetel kan word in gedeeltes van triljoene. Daar is vele verhale van die neuswonders van honde.

Tweede sensoriese gedeelte

Bykomend het honde ‘n tweede sensoriese gedeelte wat baie diere-eienaars grys hare gee. Die Jacobson‘s orgaan wat in vele reptiele, amfibiese diere, die mens en ander soogdiere gevind word, wat ook as chemiese reseptors bekend staan. ‘n Voorbeeld hiervan is slange wat muise en rotte se spoor volg.

Die Jacobson’s orgaan is klein sakkies wat aan een of beide kante van die neus se septum voorkom. Die belangrikheid van die Jacobson‘s orgaan is dat dit feromone optel wat afgeskei word. Dit is die chemiese stof wat uniek is tot elke dier wat geslagsrypheid en seksuele gereedheid adverteer.

Honde se reaksie op feromone

Honde is territoriale diere. Vele klein ‘diertjies’ soos stofmyte, vlooie en ander organismes wat in skeure, krake, matte en/of kaste bly, skei feromone af. Hul is gedurig aan die voortplant. Feromone bedreig honde se domein en ruimtes wat aan hulle behoort en daarom merk en hermerk hul die gebied af wat aan hulle behoort en sal hulle dit oor en oor doen.

Honde se urienmerke is dus nie net oor swak huismaniere nie. Dit gaan ook oor huishoudings wat nie die beste van huis-higiëne toepas nie in die was van matte en banke en ander plekke waar vele mikro-organismes hulself huisves en waarin hulle floreer.

Slot: Daar kan baie meer oor reuk en reuksintuie geskryf word. Hierdie basiese beskrywing verduidelik waarom ‘n unieke reeks produkte ontwikkel is wat fokus op vlekke, vette, proteïne in die uriene, suur, bakterie en virusse in die uitskeidings, asook bloed – veral by kraam en operasies asook ander gevalle.

Algemene huishoudelike produkte slaag nie heeltemal in die vraag na ‘n oplossing vir die probleem wat honde se reuksintuie hul eienaars meebring nie.  Dit is die begin van hierdie studie om antwoorde vir eienaars te bring. Nog produkte in hierdie verband kom. Daar sal seker langs die pad verskeie veranderinge gemaak word in die formules, hoe meer daar in die proses geleer word.
