Pierre @ Ecohealth Carbohydrate -Derived Fulvic Acid.

What is Carbohydrate-Derived Fulvic Acid

Carbohydrate-Derived Fulvic Acid (CHD-FA™) is an internationally-patented, safe, non-toxic, water-soluble and heat-stable active ingredient for use in food, health supplements and medicines. It is a new, pure and uniform version of an ancient ingredient from nature – environmental fulvic acid.

Ask yourself why people take mud baths? It is because of the healing properties of the humic and fulvic acids in the mud. It is often called ‘Nature’s Miracle Molecule’. It is found in soil and nothing on this planet can grow without it. It is the energy of life. Its medicinal properties are well-known and have been documented over thousands of years.

Environmental fulvic acid is formed over a very long period of time in extremely small amounts by millions of beneficial microbes that work on decaying plant matter. Fulvic acid then works to activate the nutrients within soil so that they can be utilised by the cells of plants.

FulvicTextLike its action in soil, fulvic acid serves as an essential vehicle that carries vitamins and nutrients to the right place in our bodies. Rather than a single molecule, it is a range of organic acids, each one having its own action and purpose and the whole working together.

The patented CHD-FA™ is a unique supramolecular fulvic acid – it has a fixed structure with a range of backbone structures (consistent from batch to batch) working in your body as intended by nature.

images (13)

Because of CHD-FA™ being a range of organic plant acids it has a wide range of efficacy. It is a proven anti-inflammatory, antiviral, antimicrobial, antifungal and antioxidant agent whilst assisting with nutritional uptake. The unique invention of CHD-FA™ is to simulate what takes place over many years in nature – in essence fast-tracking the natural process.

Research/Efficacy on CHD-FA™

The medicinal uses of humic substances and fulvic acid have been known for many years. Medicinal products containing humic and fulvic acids with therapeutic indications for inflammation, bacterial infections, allergies, arthritis, rheumatism and various other conditions are freely available. CHD-FA™ is free of heavy metals and environmental pollutants and safe for pharmaceutical interventions. CHD-FA™ has anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral and antioxidant properties.

It has a supramolecular structure that is characterised by twenty-four principal backbone structures embedded in CHD-FA™. The backbone structures are associated with each other and with the parent structure through intermolecular bonding to form a supramolecular structure. It is all these backbone structures (consistent from batch to batch) that give CHD-FA™ its wide range of efficacy. Three examples of these 24 backbone structures, each with their own medicinal properties, are:

  • Malic acid: Anti-inflammatory; antibacterial; antifungal; antiviral; antioxidant.
  • Tartaric acid: Anti-inflammatory; antibacterial.
  • Acetyl salicylic acid/aspirin: Anti-inflammatory; antibacterial; antifungal.

Specific research completed on CHD-FA™

Over R50 million has been spent on research work specifically on CHD-FA™. The purpose of this was to not solely rely on anecdotal data and general information but to ensure whatever efficacy is claimed in regards to CHD-FA™, there is data to support it. The studies mentioned below under each condition are just some of the studies completed on CHD-FA™ -there are many more. Please contact us if more information on the studies mentioned below or any additional studies that have been done if required.

  • Anti-inflammatory

Many conditions in the human body are caused by inflammation. CHD-FA™ with its known anti-inflammatory properties will assist with these conditions. The following studies have been successfully completed:

  • CHD-FA™ inhibits Carrageen-induced inflammation and enhances wound healing. This peer-reviewed, published study conducted at the University of Pretoria indicated that CHD-FA™ has its anti-inflammatory effect by neutralising free radicals. The rate of reduction in the inflammation as a result of ingesting CHD-FA™ is equivalent to that of Indomethacin, a registered anti-inflammatory often used.
  • Phase 1 clinical study of the acute and sub-acute safety and proof of concept efficacy in humans. This peer-reviewed, published study also proved that CHD-FA™ acts as an anti-inflammatory.
  • Inflammatory efficacy of CHD-FA™ in an in vitro whole blood assay (human). The conclusion of this study done at Washington Biotechnology was that CHD-FA™ is a potent anti-inflammatory agent comparable to Dexamethasone.
  • In a randomized, parallel-group, double-blind, controlled study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of CHD-FA™ in the topical treatment of eczema, which has been peer-reviewed and published, it was found that CHD-FA™ in a cream formulation successfully improved eczema.

 Antibacterial

Bacterial and microbial infections, both systemic as well as topical, are a major health issue worldwide. Furthermore, antibiotic overuse, as well as not completing prescribed courses of antibiotics, has created a generation of resistant bacteria that, once they have invaded our bodies makes treatment very difficult. Studies at various institutions around the globe found that CHD-FA™ was successful in not only killing a wide variety of organisms, but also has the following effects:

  • Works synergistically with other medicines.
  • Is effective against a wide variety of resistant bacteria.

Antibacterial studies on CHD-FA™, including peer-reviewed and published articles:

  • CHD-FA™ is a highly-promising topical agent to enhance healing of wounds infected with drug-resistant pathogens. This peer-reviewed and published work was done at the Public Health Research Institute, Rutgers-New Jersey Medical School. The study proved that CHD-FA™ is effective against the ‘super-bug’, methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, a powerful microbe that has become of major concern worldwide.
  • Biological properties of CHD-FA™ as a potential novel therapy for the management of oral biofilm infections. This study conducted at the world-famous Glasgow Dental School, School of Medicines, was peer-reviewed and published, and concluded that CHD-FA™ exhibits broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity against orally-relevant biofilm organisms.
  • Synergistic effect of CHD-FA™. The results of this study conducted at the University of Pretoria showed that CHD-FA™ has antimicrobial activity against Staphylococcus aureus, Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Candida albicans. The antimicrobial spectrum of CHD-FA™ compares favourably with that of currently-prescribed antibiotics and acts synergistically with oxacillin (methicillin) and gentamicin. A Gram stain of albicans grown in the presence of CHD-FA™ showed rounded, enlarged, non-dividing bodies indicating that this product acts on the cell wall of microorganisms.
  • Assessment of the in vitro efficacy of CHD-FA ± Oxacillin following several passages in methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (EMRSA16). This study at Euprotec in the UK indicated that there is no resistance build-up by CHD-FA™.
  • Determination of the in vitro efficacy of CHD-FA™ against multidrug-resistant Enterobacteriaceae and Mycobacteria. The study concluded:
    • CHD-FA™ was effective against NDM-1, KPC and ESBL positive Klebsiella pneumonia and multi-resistant coli strains with a 100% MIC value of 0.06-0.12%.
    • CHD-FA™ was highly effective against multi-resistant Gram negative bacilli including NDM-1 positive strains. CHD-FA was also highly effective against Mycobacterium smegmatis. All organisms were inhibited using ≤0.12% of CHD-FA™.
  • Antiviral

Viruses are microscopic organisms that replicate within the cells of animals, plants and humans and subsequently cause disease. Such diseases can range from the common cold and influenza to Epstein Barr’s disease, herpes and hepatitis, to name but a few.

An in vitro study performed at the University of Pretoria showed CHD-FA™ to be fast and effective in managing feline herpes.

In vitro work was also done at Virologic in the USA against HIV strains, showing efficacy.

  • Antifungal

Not all fungi are beneficial. Some are toxic and often cause diseases that can be both uncomfortable and dangerous. Examples include: aspergillus (can cause cancer); zygomycetes (can cause serious external skin infections and internal infections along the gastrointestinal tract); and Candida, of which there are many species with the most common one causing vaginal infections. As with many strains of bacteria, many Candida species are resistant to drugs.

A wide range of studies were performed on CHD-FA™ as an anti-fungal agent:

  • Studies carried out at Fungiscope in Germany showed that resistant Candida strains tested were inhibited by CHD-FA™.
  • Assessment of the in vivo efficacy of CHD-FA™ in a murine model of disseminated Candidiasis. This study done at Euprotec in the UK proved that CHD-FA™ is effective in vivo against Candida albicans on its own or in combination with other medicines such as Fluconazole.
  • Assessment of the in vitro efficacy of CHD-FA™ against malassezia and dermatophyte This study done at Euprotec in the UK proved that CHD-FA™:
    • inhibits the growth of Malassezia dermatis, Malassezia furfur and Malassezia globosa when used as a 0.125% solution at its native pH of 2.1 in vitro.
    • inhibits the growth of all dermatophyte strains tested, except Microsporum canis, when used as a 0.2-0.4% solution.
  • Immune Support

Because of its anti-oxidant as well as chelating and other properties such as enhanced nutritional uptake as discussed, CHD-FA™ is effective in supporting a stronger immune system.

  • Anti-Diabetic

Diabetes is a disease affecting millions of people. Because of the various healing properties of CHD-FA™, an in vivo study was conducted at the Medical Research Institute and the outcome was:

The solutions tested significantly enhanced glucose uptake both in the C2C12 muscle and Chang liver cells. The increase in the glucose uptake was comparable to that of metformin, an established anti-diabetic agent.

  • Antioxidant

The antioxidant properties are well-documented in general literature such as the article in the Journal of Food, Agriculture & Environment Vol. 9 (3&4): 123 – 127 (2011). Additional testing has also been done on CHD-FA™ confirming its excellent anti-oxidant properties.

The summary of work done at University of Pretoria concluded: “it has been shown that CHD-FA™ possesses some antioxidant properties in vitro.  This property suggests that this product may be an effective immunomodulator for the treatment of diseases associated with an overproduction of reactive oxidants by human phagocytes.”

  •  Nutritional Uptake

CHD-FA™ assist in nutritional uptake as has been proven by a study at the University of Pretoria. From the study it is clear that CHD-FA™ will assist in the nutritional uptake of various minerals.

  •  Preservative

Because of the antibacterial, antimicrobial and antifungal properties of CHD-FA™, it essentially acts as its own preservative in the various products. The preservative efficacy report by SWIFT SILLIKER confirms the preservative properties of CHD-FA™.

A short History of Ozone Oil

Nikola Tesla (in 1900) began marketing an ozonated olive oil to medical doctors in the 1900’s.  Tesla is known as one of the most influential scientists the world has ever seen. When Albert Einstein was asked a tricky question about who the cleverest man on earth is, his answer was politely.

“I don’t know. You have to ask Nicola Tesla”

Nikola Tesla created his ozonated oil by bubbling ozone through pure olive oil in the presence of a magnetic field for eight weeks.

By 1904, ozonated olive oil, also known as “Glycozone”, began appearing in medical literature, such as “The Medical Uses of Hydrozone and Glycozone”, 9th Edition, by New York Chemist Charles Marchland.

images

What is Oxynated Olive Oil Balm?

Oxynated Olive Oil Balm is produced when ozone gas is bubbled through pure cold press virgin olive oil. The bubbling of the ozone through pure virgin olive oil, is a 24/7 continuous process.

The production of one batch of Oxynated Olive Oil last between 4- 6 weeks. During this time the olive oil will turn and change to a soft “off-white” paste.

What is ozone?

  • Ozone is an unstable, but highly beneficial molecule.
  • It’s the tri-atomic form of oxygen
  • Normal oxygen consists of two atoms (O2).
  • Ozone consist of three (3) oxygen atoms (O3).

How does Oxynated Olive Balm function.

  • Ozone is a gas with the chemical formula O3.
  • It is the allotropic form of oxygen (O2), meaning that it is “oxygen in its most active state”.
  • Ozone gas is naturally found in the environment. It well known for the “Gap in the Ozone layer”.
  • The ozone layer protects the planet from the sun’s ultraviolet radiation.

images (14)

  • Ozone’s main feature is its incredible ability to purify, its functional ability to eliminate organic compounds, including all known bacteria, fungi and viruses successfully.
  • When ozone is applied directly onto bacteria, fungi and viruses, ozone has an immediate eliminating effect on the organism.
  • The only residue that Oxynated Olive Oil leaves behind, is pure oxygen.
  • This makes Oxynated Olive Oil an extremely effective natural germicide agent.

How does Ozone react with Olive Oil?

images (18)

  • With pure virgin olive oil, the ozone reacts with the fatty acids in the olive oil under controlled reaction conditions.
  • This process creates among other compounds, multiple peroxide species such as lipoperoxides, ozonides, aldehydes and ketones.

Multiple studies refer to the synergy that is created between the ozone and olive oil. These studies explain the vast benefits of the molecular structure of ozonated olive oil, with specific reference to the beneficial values it offers.

Not all ozonated oils are equal

Do not ever be misled. Not all ozonated oils are equal.

The quality and functional properties of ozonated olive oil depends on the raw material used (cold press pure virgin olive oil), as well as the quality of the “cold press” manufacturing process.

Ozone is an unstable gas.

  • It does not want to stay in a “tri-atomic” state.
  • It is therefore important to be held in check by other able molecular bindings.
  • Ozone will break down from O3 to O2 to O1 within 20 minutes at atmospheric pressure.

The Importance of the O1 breakdown

  • O1 is called a “singlet oxygen atom”.
  • It is HIGHLY REACTIVE with just about any substance.
  • It will react with almost any organism or substance that should not be in the human body (i.e. viruses, bacteria, fungi, etc.).
  • It is widely in acknowledged in Literature as a “Universal cleansing agent”.

Why Olive Oil?

  • Literature claims that olive oil contains large amounts of “antioxidants.”
  • Apart from its beneficial fatty acids, olive oil also contains modest amounts of vitamins E and K.
  • These antioxidants are biologically active and may reduce the risk of chronic diseases (6, 7).

0

  • Olive oil is known to fight inflammation.
  • Olive oil also protects blood cholesterol from oxidation
  • Added to this, is it is well known to lower the risk of heart diseases. (8, 9) in its pure virgin form.

Multiple studies have shown that the combination of oil and ozone has a synergistic effect, highly beneficial for skin health.

  • The O1 factor will protect the skin against external aggressors and the damaging effects of airborne and other harmful environmental free radicals.
  • It will also destroy foreign microorganisms not does not belong in the body.
  • Olive Oil is deeply moisturizing and nourishing, while olive oil purifies, regenerate and helps in the healing processes of the skin.
  • Oxynated Olive Oil improves cellular metabolism. It strengthens the natural anti-inflammatory abilities of the immune system.
  • Oxynated Olive Oil will improve blood circulation, causing ulcers and or severe skin conditions such as dry skin conditions. Especially with elder people and or people constraint to wheelchairs. (See the various uses that follows).
  • The O1- Ozone factor will stop the production of germs present in some skin conditions, such as acne, seborrhea, skin lesions, redness, etc.
  • Ozonated Olive Oil might also be a good alternative to consider as natural treatment, rather than the use of corticosteroid creams.

Does ozone kills good bacteria too?

  • It doesn’t really matter how much and how fast you kill viruses and or fungi or bacteria.
  • If you do not protect your healthy cells from re- infection,  you will never eliminate the cause of illness effectively.
  • It is therefore most important to protect your healthy cells and prevent viruses and bacteria to use these cells from replicating.

This is one of the wonderful side effects ozone provides.

  • Ozone facilitates the Krebs’s cycle by improving the oxidative carboxylation of pyruvate and promoting the synthesis of ATP.
  • There is also an increase in antioxidant enzymes that act as free radical scavengers (such as glutathione peroxidase, catalase and superoxide dismutase). (Ciborowski, Lipska, Godzien, et al., 2012)
  • With the increased protection of healthy cells that are surrounded by protective enzymes, re- infection is reduced to the minimum.

Conclusion:

  • Oxynated Olive Oil Balm is therefore a valuable medium or vehicle to enrich with powerful “reactive oxygen,” to address the effects of harmful microorganisms.
  • The “O1” singlet Ozonated Olive Oil will actively destroy fungi, parasites, bacteria and spores found on the skin.

  • Ozonated Olive Oil might be beneficial with skin problems associated with persons with reduced mobility, such as the elderly with diaper rash, ulcers, herpes and bedsores.

Oxynated Olive Oil Skin in conclusion

  • Is a germicide power against bacteria, viruses and fungi
  • Is an anti-inflammatory and antioxidant balm
  • Is actively stimulates the internal or endogenous antioxidant system in the skin
  • Proves to have immune-stimulant properties, as well as an exceptional functional ability to repair and heal tissues
  • It proves to have numerous moisturizing and nourishing abilities
  • It is extremely efficient in destroying external free radical aggressors
  • It will improve and increase functional cell metabolism.
  • Through ozone’s anti-inflammatory properties, it will reduce pain as well as swelling.

Oxynated Olive Oil: Diaper rash, skincare, bed sores, ulcers, etc.

Example 1. There are various causes of diaper rush

  • Baby skin is a delicate fragile organ. The diaper area is expose to faeces, urine, humidity and poor ventilation.
  • The lower abdomen is susceptible to the proliferation of pathogenic microorganisms, that cause inflammation, (bacteria, viruses, spores, fungi) reddening rash, pain and sores.
  • Many children are affected by seborrheic dermatitis, atopic eczema or psoriasis.
  • Not only children, impaired people in wheelchairs as well as the elderly in bed with sensitive skin types, will show signs of rash and irritation.
  • Exposure to these harmful pathogenic organisms can complicate skin conditions.
  • We can therefore except that a baby’s body (also the the impaired and the elderly) is exposed to pathogenic organisms that might be harmful to their skin.

images (21)

Diaper rash is known as an “Irritation of the skin under the diaper”.

Diaper rash appears as a red patch with well-delimited borders. Diaper rash can be extremely painful when touched, also depending on its severity.

The redness or red patches also tends to get further irritated because of diapers, creams, fabrics, washing powders, poor quality soaps and fabric softeners.

Varying factors play cause inflamed skin conditions

  • Humidity, and the lack of air flow and intense rubbing.
  • Ammonia produced in urine.
  • Irritants found in faeces, especially when acidic, as is the case of diarrhoea.
  • Products used to wash linen diapers.
  • Cleaning and the excessive use of cosmetic products.

Example 2: Oxynated Olive Oil and diabetic foot
